BA (Hons) Fine Art

The BA (Hons) Fine Art course, offered part-time over 4 and a half years on the campus of the University of Bolton, encourages students to explore the fundamental principles of Fine Art and fosters an environment that encourages critical thinking and creativity. Students on this course have the liberty to choose their artistic direction, material specialisms and philosophical stance. Course Content: The program provides a comprehensive education in the methods, logic, and the historical and theoretical contexts of Fine Art. Major areas of study include contemporary art ideas; materials and methods; contextual studies; and individual, negotiated projects. Students will be expected to develop their understanding of materials, methods and concepts; conduct a self-directed programme of study; and complete a project or dissertation in their final year.Key Modules: The key modules include traditional areas such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and more contemporary practices like digital media, installation, and performance. Students also undertake modules in contextual studies, professional practice, and strategic career planning.Accreditations: The course does not mention any specific accreditations. Future Careers: The BA (Hons) Fine Art degree can lead to careers as independent artists, artistic projects managers, community artists, teachers, curators and exhibition organisers and facilitators.
