MA International Relations

The International Relations MA course at the University of Kent is designed to provide students with the opportunity to investigate a variety of themes in an in-depth manner within the field of international relations. This includes conflicts and post-conflict reconstruction, transnational migration, global governance, and international security among others. The program is delivered on a full-time and part-time basis, over 12 and 24 months respectively. Course Content: The program is built on a strong foundation of theoretical and empirical knowledge. It comprises of four compulsory modules alongside two specialist pathways: Europe and the World, and, Global Governance and Conflict, allowing students to develop specialized knowledge and understanding in particular areas of interest. The courses are concluded with a final dissertation project. Key Modules: The core modules for the foundation term include: Theories of International Relations, and Political Analysis. The second half of the course introduces students to specialized modules such as: Europe: Integration and Democratisation, Global Governance, Conflict and War, Transnational Migrants, and Culture Politics. Given the vast range of issues and specialism taught, students have the flexibility to enter employment across a wide range of occupations.
