The BSc in Physical Geography and Geology at the University of Leicester offers an in-depth understanding of the Earth's landscapes and the processes that have shaped them. This course combines the study of physical geography, which investigates the Earth's climates, landscapes and environments with geology, the study of the Earth's solid materials, including rocks and the processes by which they are created, changed and destroyed.Course Content: The course is designed to provide a strong scientific understanding of the Earth, the processes that shape its surface and interior, and the techniques used to study them. Students will develop important practical skills, including fieldwork in a range of environments. The course covers a range of topics, including climate change, natural hazards, Earth surface processes and resources, sedimentology and igneous petrology.Key Modules: The course includes modules such as: Skills for Geoscientists, Dynamic Landscapes, The Sedimentary Record, The Earth Interior, Evolution of the Biosphere, Tectonic Processes, Geoscience Field Training, and Environmental Change. Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Geological Society of London.Future Careers: The skills developed through this course can lead to numerous career paths.
