The English and French Law LLB course offered at the University of Leicester is a four-year degree programme that allows students to qualify as solicitors or barristers in England and Wales and also become French law practitioners. Course Content: The students will undertake a rigorous study of key legal topics and related skills in the UK and French law, before spending a year in France where they will be totally immersed in the French language and legal culture. They will then return to UK for the final year of their studies. Key Modules: The first and second year of the course features modules on Constitutional and Administrative Law, Contract Law, Criminal Law, The Law of Tort, plus French Language and Introductory French Law. In the third year, students study in France choosing from a broad array of modules, including French Public Law and European Union Law. On returning to UK for the final year, students choose their modules from a variety, like Jurisprudence, Company Law or Family Law.Accreditations: As an accredited degree, this course provides exemption from the academic stage of the professional qualification for solicitors and barristers.
