MSc Occupational Therapy (Pre-Registration)

The Master's in Occupational Therapy offered by the University of Cumbria is aimed at those who work in a related healthcare profession and who desire to develop expertise in Occupational Therapy. It is a pre-registration program for graduates without a prior degree in Occupational Therapy, allowing them to gain a deep understanding of the complexities of Occupation Therapy and equip them with crucial skills needed to flourish in this field.Course Content: This full-time, two-year course is delivered via a combination of lectures, tutorials and practical sessions and assessments are made through essays, exams, oral presentations, and practical evaluations. It explores various aspects of occupation and human occupation, therapeutic skills, and research methodology.Key Modules: The key modules include Human Occupation and Occupational Science, Occupational Performance: Personal and Environmental Factors, Applied Therapeutic Skills, Occupation-based Practice, Clinical Reasoning, and Research in Health & Social Care.Accreditations: The course is validated by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).Future Careers: This has been designed to prepare graduates to be eligible to apply for registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
