MA Filmmaking

This is an MA Filmmaking course offered by Sheffield Hallam University, designed to develop your creative and professional skills in film production. This course concentrates on practical filmmaking and helps students develop their skills through writing, direction, production, and post-production of films. Course Content: The course covers a wide range of skills including narrative construction, visual storytelling, character development, plot advancement, and the way these elements are fused within visual language skills in production and post-production sectors of film making. You will also cover documentary and drama, looking at them from script to screen, exploring practical issues, aesthetic choices and research methods. The course typically includes masterclasses in cinematography, editing, sound design, scriptwriting. Key Modules: The key modules include Film Craft, Story Engine, Documentary Filmmaking, Film Production, and Research and Publication Skills. Future Careers: Upon successful completion of the course, students have gone on to work as independent film producers, independent television producers, freelance camera operators, freelance editors, freelance sound designers, and independent directors.
