BSc (Honours) Nursing (Mental Health)

The BSc (Honours) Nursing - Mental Health is a full-time course provided by Sheffield Hallam University. The course aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to provide person-centered mental health care in a range of healthcare settings.Course Content: The course content primarily focuses on key aspects of mental health nursing. There will be a blend of theoretical studies and practical application with individuals, groups, and communities that will support the development of effective communication and therapeutic relationships. Additionally, there's a focus on critical appraisal skills, clinical decision-making and leadership, and management within the context of mental health nursing.Key Modules: Core areas of study within the course include Contexts for Contemporary Mental Health Nursing, Therapeutic Relationships for Mental Health Nursing, Understanding the Discipline of Nursing, Co-producing Recovery and Hope, and Prevention and Management in Public Health & Society.Accreditations: Following successful completion, students are eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Future Careers: This program prepares graduates to work in a variety of areas within mental health nursing, including acute inpatient care, community mental health teams, Crisis services, and rehabilitation and recovery services.
