BA (Hons) Graphic Design and Illustration

The Graphic Design and Illustration BA (Hons) course at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) creatively combines graphic design with illustration to encourage students to think about the creative design process in new and exciting ways. This course is designed to give students the ability to explore a range of techniques within digital and print media, where they get the chance to showcase their talents, explore new concepts, and work on their own personal and professional development.Course Content: This course encompasses various aspects of graphic design and illustration such as drawing, printmaking, typography, photography, and moving image work. Students will work on the exploration of sequence and narrative, the study and use of image and text, along with a comprehensive exploration of 2D, 3D, and digital media. Key Modules: Some of the key modules in this course include 'Introduction to Graphic Design and Illustration, 'Developing Graphic Design and Illustration', 'Exploring Graphic Design and Illustration', 'Contextualising Graphic Design and Illustration', 'Realising Graphic Design and Illustration', and 'Negotiated Major Project in Graphic Design and Illustration'.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Designers and also meets the requirements of the Design Council’s ‘Criteria for Course Recognition’.Future Careers: This course can open the path for students to become a Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Animator, Printmaker, Photographer, or Layout Artist.
