The Renewable Energy Systems Engineering MSc at the University of Surrey is a full-time or part-time postgraduate program that provides students with comprehensive knowledge and critical insight into current strategies in renewable energy systems engineering. The course combines the areas of renewable energy engineering with business modules, and is designed to prepare students to become engineers and researchers who can devise and implement sustainable solutions.Course Content: The curriculum covers major renewable technologies with special emphasis on systems engineering, thus enabling students to design, specify, construct, commission and operate renewable energy systems. Topics include, but are not limited to, Energy Policy and Economics, Photovoltaic Technology, Biomass, Wind and Hydro Power, Energy in Buildings, and Life Cycle Assessment.Key Modules: Some of the core modules include: Bioenergy, Electrical Power Systems, Wind Energy and Photovoltaic Technologies, Solar Energy, Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment, and the Energy Policies for a Low Carbon Economy module.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Energy Institute (EI).Future Careers: Graduates of this program have been successful in a wide range of roles in renewable energy companies, consultancies, project development, and government departments. Some have set up and run their own businesses or have moved on to pursue PhD study. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
