They will learn the relevance of microbiology and explore different microorganisms, their physiology and genetics. They will be introduced to molecular biology techniques for microbiology and learn about microbial pathogenesis.Key Modules: Modules include Introduction to Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Pathogenesis of Infectious Diseases, Molecular Virology, Environmental & Industrial Microbiology, Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology, and a Microbiology research project.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology for the purpose of meeting, in part, the academic and experience requirement for the Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol).Future Careers: Graduates from this course have found success in a variety of roles including microbiologists, research scientists in pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
