The Acting BA (Hons) course offered by the University of Surrey aims to provide extensive training to develop each student as a unique individual artist and prepare they for a career in the entertainment industry. This course celebrates the actors’ imaginative ability for conjuring the worlds of drama and fiction, and embraces traditional and innovative approaches to performance making.Course Content: The acting course offers several practice modules that are concerned with core skills: Movement, Voice, Creativity and Drama. It integrates various acting methods including, Stanislavski, Laban, Meisner, Chekhov, and Suzuki Methodologies, among others. Students will get the chance to work with tools of the trade such as, Pro Tools, QLab and Logic Studio Pro, as well as learn how to utilize digital platforms for remote and virtual performance.Key Modules: Some of the core modules in the course include Acting Techniques, Devising and Creativity, Plays and Playwriting, Performance: Text and Production, Technology and Performance, Shakespeare and His Contemporaries, and Performing in the Digital World. Accreditations: The course is developed in partnership with the Guildford School of Acting, one of the most highly regarded theatre schools in the UK.Future Careers: This degree aims to prepare students for a diverse range of careers both in and outside the performing arts industry.
