MSc Cultural Heritage

The Cultural Heritage MLitt at the University of Aberdeen offers an opportunity to explore how our past shapes our present and impacts our future. This interdisciplinary program aims to delve deep into concepts of cultural heritage and bridge the gap between theory and practice. Course Content: Students can learn about different forms of cultural heritage, from tangible assets like historic buildings to intangible resources such as folklore and traditional craft skills. The program also discusses the challenges and opportunities associated with heritage management. Plus, students can expect to discuss controversial cases, question prevailing ideas, and consider alternative perspectives.Key Modules: Each student's journey with the program is unique, with modules such as Identifying and Interpreting Aberdeen’s Built Heritage, Theory and Practice in Cultural Heritage, Globalisation and Cultural Property, Heritage Ethics and Human Rights, and Specialist Skills (SS) in Archaeology, among others.Accreditations: Not mentioned on the course page.
