Meng Engineering

The Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree programme offered by the University of Aberdeen is a 5-year course designed to equip students with a holistic set of skills in engineering with particular attention given to the needs of the professional engineer. The course gives a focus on both teaching and research, ensuring students gain a comprehensive learning experience.Course Content: The course begins with providing students a broad foundation of engineering knowledge during their first two years, then offers a choice of study into the final Honours year where students can specialise in their preferred area such as civil, mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering. The course emphasises development of practical skills as well as theoretical understanding.Key Modules: Some of the key course modules include concepts of electronics, fundamental engineering materials, principles of thermodynamics, system design and computing, dynamics and control, power engineering, and embedded computing.Accreditations: The BEng programme is fully accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) comprising the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Institute of Highway Engineers, and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation on behalf of the Engineering Council.Future Careers: Upon completion, graduates can embark careers in a range of sectors including civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering. They have opportunities in the automotive industry, energy sector, construction, and manufacturing.
