The Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Robotics course, provided by the University of Aberdeen, is a unique degree programme designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in the areas of electrical and electronic engineering and robotics. The course aims to give students an understanding of how these multi-disciplinary technologies are used in a wide range of sectors. Course Content: The course content comprises a combination of technical skills, software knowledge and practical abilities, all aimed towards equipping students to design, build and operate robots. First and second-year students will study a range of key areas including mathematics, circuits and systems, and coding. Following these foundational years, third and fourth years will specialise and focus on aspects of robotics, including control engineering, sensors and signal processing, and robotics systems design. In the final year, a significant component of the course will be the completion of an individual project.Key Modules: Key modules at the start of the programme include Mathematics for Engineers and Scientists, Electronics, Introduction to Engineering Thermodynamics, Circuit Theory and IT Essentials. As the course progresses, modules such as Control Engineering, Integrated Electronics, Dynamics, and Robotics Systems are introduced and delved into. Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the educational requirement for Incorporated Engineer and partially meeting the academic requirement for a Chartered Engineer. Future Careers: Graduates of this course can potentially find employment in various sectors such as electrical manufacturing, power distribution and supply, Building Services, telecommunications, motor industries, aerospace and marine industries. Graduates may expect job roles ranging from Robotics Engineer, Control and Instrumentation Engineer, Electrical/Electronic Engineer to Broadcast Engineer. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page here.
