The International Law and International Relations (MSc) programme is a postgraduate degree offered at the University of Aberdeen. It provides a detailed understanding of the theory and practical application of international law, necessary skills to pursue a career in a global context and the opportunity to explore contemporaneous international issues including environmental protection, international trade, and the use of force among others.Course Content: The programme is designed to develop advanced, specialised legal knowledge from an international perspective, along with an understanding of the politics and theories surrounding international law and international relations. The classes are delivered through lectures, seminars and tutorials while students will also be expected to carry out independent study.Key Modules: The course is divided into several modules which include, Foundations of International Law, Conceptual Tools in International Relations and Law in Global Society, and Law of the Sea among others. Optional course modules are also available such as, International Human Rights Law and Criminal Law with International and Comparative Elements.Future Careers: On successful completion of this course, students may have career opportunities in the field of International Law and Relations such as governmental departments, international organisations, Non Governmental Organisations or international firms.
