BSc Archaeology

The Archaeology course at the University of Aberdeen provides students with a wide variety of highly transferable skills such as project management, independent research, critical thought, and complex problem-solving. It encourages students to investigate the richness and diversity of the human past, seeking to understand how people have lived and acted in earlier cultures.Course Content: The program mainly focuses on studying the archaeology of Scotland, Britain, and Ireland with specialization in Northern World, Medieval Europe, Egypt, and the Near East. Students will get hands-on field experience along with classroom teachings.Key Modules: The main modules of the course vary from introductory first-year courses in archaeological techniques and history, to specialized third and fourth-year courses in archaeological art, human remains, environmental archaeology, maritime archaeology, and others. Students also have a chance to develop their own research project in the final year.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the University of Aberdeen.Future Careers: Graduates from this program are highly adaptable and able to apply their skills to a range of jobs including commercial archaeology, heritage education, museums and tourist industry, town planning, environmental assessment, and national government organisations and NGOs.
