Beng Engineering

The BEng Engineering degree programme at the University of Aberdeen is a general engineering course that offers students the foundational knowledge and skills for a successful career in the diverse field of engineering. This programme combines the theoretical aspects of engineering with practical experience, helping students to understand the principles behind the construction of artefacts, the science of materials, the roles of engineering in society and more. Course Content: The first two years of the course provide a broad understanding of engineering principles with core modules in mechanics, materials, thermofluids, and mathematics. The third year allows students to explore topics in greater depth in areas such as engineering management. In the final year, students undertake an individual project demonstrating application of knowledge and skills.Key Modules: Key modules included in the programme span from Engineer in Society, Principles of Electronics, Materials and Thermodynamics, to Design and Computing, Engineering Mathematics 1 & 2, to Managing Engineering Innovation and Improvement, and many more.Accreditations: The BEng Engineering degree is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Upon completion, graduates are well-equipped to pursue careers in a wide range of industries including mechanical, civil, chemical, environmental and electrical engineering.
