MSc Applied Wildlife Conservation

The Applied Wildlife Conservation course offered by the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) is a postgraduate qualification course designed to equip students for a career in wildlife conservation, with an emphasis on practical application. This course provides you with the scientific knowledge and skills necessary to understand and assess ecosystems, and to implement conservation management strategies and plans.Course Content: This full-time degree comprises a mix of taught modules and a major research-based project. The course starts in September, has a January intake or can be studied part-time over two years. Key Modules: The course covers crucial areas such as Applied Wildlife Science, Wildlife Policies and Legislation, and Managing the Impact of Climate Change on Wildlife. It also includes a Professional Practice for Wildlife Conservation module. The final aspect of the course is a major project, where students operate as a consultant to conduct an independent research project, in the field or lab, around wildlife conservation issues.Future Careers: On completing the course, graduates can find careers in a variety of sectors such as conservation biology, environmental consultancy, in NGOs (potentially at an international level), or in government agencies.
