BA (Hons) Education and Religion

The Education and Religion programme offered by Edge Hill University is a combined honours degree. It introduces students to the complexities of teaching, learning, and education policies in conjunction with studies in religion, philosophy, and ethics.Course Content: This programme provides a broad base of knowledge, including the history, philosophy and sociology of education, the principles of learning and teaching, and current issues concerning religion. It also covers the multi-cultural, multi-faith nature of contemporary education and society, as well as an in-depth exploration of ethical issues and themes from religious studies and education.Key Modules: Some of the core modules include 'Religion in Contemporary Society', 'Educational Alternatives', 'Religious Diversity: Theories and Practice' and 'Education for All'.
