The MSc in Finance and Data Analytics at the University of Stirling is a full-time, one-year postgraduate program. It aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skill to cope up with the rapid rise of data in today’s finance industry. This course is designed to place students at the intersection of finance and data – gearing them up to compete in a new age of finance.Course Content: The programme combines the theory of finance with practical, hands-on experience in data analysis. Students will undergo courses focusing on financial theory, data analysis, computing, and communication skills. They will also complete a supervised dissertation, selecting a finance topic of their choice.Key Modules: The Key modules include Financial Management, Contemporary issues in Management, Data Analytics, Big Data Fundamentals, Applied Statistics and Data Analytics Project. In addition to these, students also take up two optional modules among several, like Advanced Corporate Finance, Econometrics, Derivatives and Risk Management.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) and the CFA Institute. The programme is also a partner programme of the Chartered Banker Institute. Future Careers: Graduates are well-equipped to pursue careers in data-intensive finance roles. They are capable of stepping straight into roles such as: risk analyst, investment banker, financial engineer, compliance officer, financial analyst, or financial consultant.
