BAcc (Hons) Accountancy and Finance

The Accountancy and Finance course at the University of Stirling provides a solid grounding in the fundamentals of accountancy and finance, while permitting you to develop specialist knowledge in areas such as investment analysis, tax, firm valuation, risk management and management accounting.Course Content: The course is offered as a four year Bachelor's degree with optional study pathways allowing flexibility and specialization on targeted areas of interest. In the first two years, fundamental concepts in accountancy and finance are covered along with introduction to other business related subjects. The third and fourth years offer optional modules allowing students to delve into and specialize in specific areas of Accountancy and Finance.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Financial Reporting, Finance and Investment, Accounting for Business, Taxation, Risk Management and Insurance, and Firm Valuation and Accounting Information.Accreditations: The course is accredited by professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).Future Careers: After successful completion of the course, students may find opportunities in areas such as banking, insurance, risk management, stockbroking, investment analysis, and finance.
