BSc Hons. Biological Science

The BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences course at Kingston University is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of biology, focusing on the study of human biology and microbiology. The course offers the opportunity to develop scientific skills and research experience, with a curriculum that embraces contemporary biological and health science, using real-world examples to link theory to practice. Course Content: The program is divided into three years of study. Subjects include gene technology, environmental management, and the biology of infectious diseases, among others. Students have the opportunity to take a placement year, offering invaluable professional and academic skills that are cultivated in real-world settings. Key Modules: Core modules students will undertake include Human Physiology and Metabolism, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Genetics and Evolution and Clinical Laboratory Sciences. In the final year, students undertake and independent project which constitutes a significant part of the year. Accreditations: The program is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology for the purpose of meeting in part the academic and experience requirement for the Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol). Future Careers: Graduates from this course have seen employment success in a vast range of roles within clinical practice, medical research, health charities, environmental protection agencies, and forensics.
