The Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons) programme offered by Kingston University is a three-year undergraduate course that provides students with the opportunity to develop a sound understanding of the fundamental elements in mechanical engineering. It equips students with the technical and transferable skills required to explore a career in mechanical engineering.Course Content: This course offers a blend of theoretical study and practical experience to impart comprehensive knowledge in areas such as solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, materials, thermodynamics, and mechanical engineering design. Additionally, students actively engage in project work that ensures that graduates have the necessary skills to respond to challenges faced in the industry today.Key Modules: The course comprises of several modules such as Engineering Design, Introduction to Mechanical Engineering, and Computational and Experimental Methods that provide a broad knowledge base in mechanical engineering. In addition to these fundamental modules, students also undertake a final year project that allows the application of concepts learnt throughout the course.Accreditations: The Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons) course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), as fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Kingston University's Mechanical Engineering graduates have found successful roles in design engineering, project management, and consultancy. The course also encourages further study at the postgraduate level. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
