The BEng (Hons) Electronic Products Engineering course at Kingston University is a hands-on program that equips students with the skills to design, develop and prototype electronic devices. Students will acquire a wide range of knowledge and abilities that bridge creativity with engineering, including designing printed circuit board (PCB) layouts, software simulation of electronic circuits, computer-aided design (CAD), and designing systems using microprocessors.Course Content: In the first year, students are introduced to core basics in mathematics, design thinking, electronics, and public speaking. In year two, the course advances to more specialized topics, such as digital electronics and power electronics, design for manufacture, and industrial management. Year three includes an individual project and an optional placement year providing productive work experience. The final year covers high-frequency electronics and nanotechnology as well as an advanced individual project.Key Modules: Modules include Engineering Design & Professional Practice, Electronics & IT Essentials, Engineering Apps & Programming, Electromechanical Control Systems & Automation, and an Individual Project for Electronic Product Engineering.Accreditations: The course has full accreditation by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). This accreditation can help students achieve the academic qualifications necessary to obtain Chartered Engineer status.Future Careers: Graduates are equipped for careers in a rapidly changing industrial environment, with opportunities in electronics design, production or systems engineering, to project management, and design or product development. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
