The BA (Hons) Applied Sociology at Robert Gordon University is a course designed to enrich students’ understanding of the social world, while providing them with extensive practical training. Students will develop skills in critical thinking and problem-solving, as well as communication and negotiation. The interdisciplinary nature of the program allows students to explore a wide range of academic disciplines and topics.Course Content: The course content includes understanding the core concepts and theories in sociology, learning to handle and analyze social science data, working on individual and group research projects. The four-year degree course provides a critical understanding of the key areas of sociology alongside practical training in social research methodologies.Key Modules: The course covers a wide range of topics which includes Sociology of the Everyday, Social Inequalities, Social Theory, and Contemporary Societal Challenges.
