The Diplomacy & International Security postgraduate taught course offered by the University of Strathclyde provides in-depth knowledge on contemporary security challenges such as terrorism, nuclear proliferation, armed conflict, and transnational crime, and the role diplomacy plays in managing these issues. Students will benefit from structured content that balances theory and practice, including a practical diplomatic negotiation exercise.Course Content: During this course, students will examine war and statecraft, explore international law, and investigate the internal workings of international organizations. Additionally, they’ll gain an insight into negotiations and crisis management. An optional module also gives learners the chance to consider the developing world and both traditional and critical security studies. The program is delivered full-time over 12 months with three to six modules per semester.Key Modules: The course offers compulsory modules such as Diplomacy and Statecraft, Diplomacy and Practice Simulation, International Law for International Relations, and Understanding War and Peace.
