BSc (Hons) Immunology & Pharmacology

The Immunology & Pharmacology course offered at the University of Strathclyde provides an opportunity for students to gain a robust understanding of the body's defence mechanisms and the action of drugs on the human body. By combining these two correlated areas, students will get a firm knowledge of research, analytical, and practical skills which are useful in many science-based professions.Course Content: In the first two years of the programme, students explore a wide variety of topics including biology, chemistry, and biomolecular sciences. In the third and fourth years, students will have in-depth study in key areas of immunology and pharmacology, alongside optional classes that allow specialisation in areas as per interest. There is also the inclusion of a research project in the final year of study which provides practical scientific experience.Key Modules: The programme includes classes like Mammalian Physiology, Introduction to Immunology, Cellular Pharmacology, Inflammation and Disease, Clinical Immunology, Biomedical Research Project among many other modules.Future Careers: After the successful completion of this course, the graduates have opportunities in a vast range of science-related sectors including pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, hospitals and NHS management.
