The BA in Psychology and Mathematics at the University of Strathclyde offers students an exploration into the principles of human behavior, while building their understanding of mathematical concepts and how they apply to real-world situations. The course provides a variety of modules where students will be encouraged to make connections between the two disciplines. It is a four-year full-time course taught by experts in both fields.Course Content: This undergraduate degree provides a broad understanding of both psychological and mathematical principles. In the first two years, the course content covers key foundational knowledge in both disciplines. The last two years of study allow students to specialize in their areas of interest. These can include Cognitive Psychology, Research Methods and Techniques, and Advanced Mathematics such as Numerical Analysis and Fluid Mechanics.Key Modules: Modules include Foundations of Psychology, Proofs and Concepts in Mathematics, Differential Equations & Integral Transforms, and Children’s Understanding of Mind. These modules are designed to develop an understanding of the fundamental principles in psychology and mathematics.Accreditations: The psychology components of the course are accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) which confers eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, provided the minimum standard of a second-class honours is achieved.Future Careers: Graduates may embark on a wide range of potential careers such as mathematical modeling, data analysis, and statistical research, or move into fields requiring a strong understanding of human behavior such as counseling, human resources, or marketing. The course can also lead to postgraduate study in either discipline. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page here.
