BA (Hons) History

The History Undergraduate program at the University of Strathclyde is a full-time course that blends history with economics, religious education with literacy, and politics with geography. This course is designed to allow students to gain transferable skills that can be used in a variety of careers and roles.Course Content: The course involves the critical and analytical study of the past, the development of transferable skills, and the exploration of a range of historical eras across Britain, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. The first year will provide students with a comprehensive introduction to history as an academic discipline and focus on the modern history of Britain, Europe, and the wider world.Key Modules: The key modules include Imperialism and Decolonisation, Dimensions of the Past, Stylistic Developments in Art and Design, Origins and Evolution of the Novel, Exploring the Classical World, Modern Thinkers, and From Slavery to Freedom.Future Careers: A History degree opens the door to a wide range of careers.
