The University of Strathclyde offers an undergraduate program in English, Creative Writing, and Psychology. This course combines the analytical reading skills of an English literature degree with the creativity of a creative writing course, and upon it also builds knowledge of psychology for versatility. Course Content: The course is built upon three core aspects - English, psychology, and creative writing. English and psychology are studied in Years 1-3. Students will study Victorian Literature, Romanticism, European Fiction and Poetry, Contemporary British and Irish literature, and more. In psychology, students study Conditions of Learning, Individual Differences, and Research Methods. The Creative Writing component launches from Year 3, allowing students to focus on developing their own voice in creative works through workshops.Key Modules: The key modules of this course include Victorian Literature and Culture, American Nightmares: Dread, Desire and Anxiety in American Literature, Children's Literature, Psychology A&B, Research in Practice 1 & 2, and Creative Writing Portfolio, among several others.Accreditations: Graduates of the Psychology course will be eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society, providing the minimum standard of qualification required for a career in professional psychology.Future Careers: This course aims to prepare students for a diverse range of careers.
