BA (Hons) Education & English

The BA (Hons) Education and English course offered by the University of Strathclyde provides a solid foundation for students to work in educational settings and offers the chance to study English to degree level. The course, which has a duration of four years, aims to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and understanding to facilitate learning in various educational contexts. Course Content: The course content is divided equally between Education and English studies. In the Education classes, students will learn about concepts, issues, and research in education. They will also develop their understanding of educational issues in a wide variety of contexts, including primary, secondary, and additional support needs. On the English side, students will have the opportunity to study literature, language, and creative writing. They will explore a range of texts and genres, from classic works to contemporary literature.Future Careers: Graduates of the BA (Hons) Education and English course can progress to do a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) leading to a career in Primary or Secondary teaching.
