The Education & Economics course offered at the University of Strathclyde provides students with the opportunity to combine two complementary academic disciplines. This engaging and dynamic course allows students to explore theories, policies and practices in both education and economics, taking a holistic approach to learning.Course Content: The course combines teaching in both the Education and Economics fields. Students will first study the required and optional classes for both disciplines then have the opportunity to carry out independent research in their final year dissertation. The third year of study includes an extended project in either education, economics, or both.Key Modules: The core modules for Education include Introduction to Education, Creating and Sustaining Environments for Learning, and Dissertation. For Economics, core modules include Introductory Economics, Economics 1A & 1B, and Economics 2A & 2B. The course also features a number of optional classes that can be chosen from a diverse range of subjects.Accreditations: The education component of the course is accredited by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), enabling students to register as a teacher of social subjects in a secondary school at the end of their course.Future Careers: This dual-honours degree prepares students for a wide range of careers in education, economics, and beyond.
