BA Hons English with TESOL

The English with TESOL course offered by the University of Bedfordshire is a three-year full-time programme. This course combines the in-depth study of English literature and linguistics with teacher training in English Language Teaching (ELT). The course prepares students by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills for a successful career in teaching English to speakers of other languages.Course Content: The programme is designed to give students advanced knowledge in English literature and linguistics. The students studying this course will also learn about the principles and practice of English Language Teaching and have the opportunity to put these into practice through a teaching placement in the second year.Key Modules: The key modules in the course include Contemporary Novels, Introduction to English Language and its Study, Principles and Practice of English Language Teaching, Describing Language, Stylistics, Language Learning and Teaching, and Modernism and After.Accreditations: The course is designed in line with the Cambridge English Language Assessment Scheme and prepares students for the Cambridge English Teaching Knowledge Test.Future Careers: This course prepares students for a wide range of careers. Graduates can go on to become English language teachers and can work in various settings, both in the UK and abroad.
