The MSc Occupational Therapy (Pre-Registration) is a two-year course offered by the University of Salford. It is intended for individuals who already possess a degree but wish to develop a career in occupational therapy. The course provides the opportunity to build on prior learning and experience to develop necessary skills, knowledge, and values to become an occupational therapist.Course Content: The course entails a mix of learning strategies including problem-based learning, practical skills workshops, small group work, lectures, and self-directed study. It also includes placements that contribute to at least 1000 hours of practice supervised by experienced occupational therapists.Key Modules: Key modules covered in this course includes Foundations for Occupational Therapy, Advancing Practice in Occupational Therapy, and Research Methods and Proposal. There is also an opportunity in the final year for students to complete a dissertation. Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT). Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC to practice as an occupational therapist.Future Careers: Successful completion of this course enables students to pursue a career in a variety of settings such as acute or community healthcare, social care services, housing and residential care, schools, or voluntary and independent sectors.
