The Advanced Mechanical Engineering Design course offered by the University of Salford is a one-year full-time or three-year part-time postgraduate program designed for those with a background in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. The course enables students to deepen their theoretical understanding, develop practical engineering skills and apply them to complex problems relevant to their future careers. Course Content: Throughout the course, students will gain an in-depth understanding of computer-aided design, advanced material technology and manufacturing strategy, whilst developing core skills in mechanical engineering and related areas. They'll study modules such as Analysis of Structural Components, Advanced Numerical Methods, Advanced Thermodynamics, and Computational Fluid Dynamics among others.Key Modules: Some of the key modules covered in the program include Advanced Mechanical Design, Advanced Industrial Automation, Statistics and Quality Systems, and Engineering Business Environment. Accreditations: Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded an MSc degree in Advanced Mechanical Engineering Design. This program is also accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) as meeting the academic requirement for Further Learning, for Chartered Engineer registration. Future Careers: Graduates of this course may find employment in industries requiring specialists in the design and analysis of mechanical systems and structures. The course may also serve as a stepping-stone towards a career in research or academia. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
