The Socially Engaged Arts Practice course at the University of Salford aims to support the development of students as socially engaged artists. This course takes a project-led, experiential, and live brief approach to the learning and teaching, thereby combining theory and practice through project-based socially engaged activities. Course Content: This postgraduate course offers various study modules that meet the needs of contemporary artistic and educational practice, offering a combination of practice and theory. Students have the opportunity to work collaboratively and individually in a creative environment that is both challenging and supportive, involving clients, settings, and/or participants in the making and presenting of their work.Key Modules: The course features distinct modules including Placement and work-related learning, Socially Engaged Arts Project, Approaches to Critical Art Practice, Creative Collaborations, and Research Methods. The course also includes an optional 60-credit dissertation module.Future Careers: On successful completion of this course, students may pursue several career paths.
