        The Wildlife Conservation undergraduate course offered by the University of Salford imparts practical skills and theoretical knowledge, equipping students to address contemporary wildlife conservation challenges. It aims to engender a deep understanding and respect for wildlife and habitats, enabling the development of effective conservation strategies.

        Course Content: The course focuses on scientific understanding alongside practical skills. Students would learn how to use specialist software, understand animal behaviour and survival, learn about sustainability, and carry out habitat assessments among others. The third year offers individuals the chance to take part in a research project on a wildlife conservation topic of their choice. There is also an optional placement year which provides valuable real-world experience.

        Key Modules: This course covers modules like Introduction to Wildlife and Zoo Biology, Wildlife Conservation, Research Methods and Skills, Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing, Wildlife Populations, and Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services.

        Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).

        Future Careers: This course opens up careers in governmental and non-governmental environmental agencies, conservation biology, environmental education and research. Some of the roles could include Ecologist, Environmental Project Manager, Nature Conservation Officer, and others.
