Beng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering

The BEng Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program at the University of Salford is designed to help students master the skills needed in the ever-evolving field of mechanical engineering. This three-year course offers an innovative blend of theory and practical application, combining a firm grounding in the principles of mechanical engineering with hands-on experience in state-of-the-art labs, using industry-standard tools and technologies.Course Content: Over the years of study, students will explore subjects including mathematics and mechanical principles, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, design, materials and manufacture, and management, business, and professional practice. An important component of the course structure is the final-year project, allowing students to apply their learnings to demonstrate their understanding of the subject matter.Key Modules: Key modules of the program include Mechanical Principles, Engineering Mathematics, Design and Professional Skills, Engineering Materials, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, amongst others.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on behalf of the Engineering Council. Hence, it provides complete fulfilment of the educational requirement for becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng).Future Careers: After graduation, students may work in a variety of sectors such as automotive, aerospace, energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing.
