The MSci (Hons) Chiropractic course at Teesside University provides a well-rounded education in the scientific, clinical and professional practice of chiropractic. It prepares students to practice as a chiropractor to diagnose, treat and manage conditions of the neuromusculoskeletal system using safe and efficient treatment techniques.Course Content: The course introduces students to the fundamentals of chiropractic theory and practice, including clinical examination, diagnosis and radiology. It also covers aspects of patient management, ethics, and business management skills. Students will have the opportunity to treat patients in a clinical setting from their first year. The course involves a significant amount of independent study and students are expected to devote much of their private study time to reviewing lecture materials and preparing for seminars and assessments.Key Modules: Some of the key modules offered include Functional Anatomy, Chiropractic Technique, Clinical Neurology, Orthopedics, Imaging and Patient Management, among others.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), meaning graduates will be eligible to apply for registration to practice as a chiropractor in the UK.Future Careers: After successful completion of this course, graduates are permitted to provide healthcare privately or through the NHS. Graduates may also venture into research or teaching, or they may choose to specialize in areas such as sports chiropractic, pediatric care, or animal chiropractic.
