MSc Dental Therapy

The MSc Dental Therapy course offered by the Teesside University is designed to equip dental hygienists and therapists with advanced clinical and academic knowledge, professional and research skills required to meet the challenges of modern day dental therapy practices.Course Content: The course provides students with the opportunity to delve deeper into oral and dental science, and current thinking in preventative and health promotion practices at an advanced level. It also imparts skills necessary to critically evaluate primary dental care services at the level of individual patient needs. There is also an opportunity for students to undertake and report an independent piece of research in a related area of interest.Key Modules: The subjects covered include statistics and research methods, research project, evidence-based practice, dental public health, restorative management of the edentulous space, innovations in dental practice, and oral medicine and pathology. Future Careers: Graduates of this course will be equipped with the necessary skills for posts in dental public health, teaching, and clinical dental health practice in both the NHS and private sector.
