The MSc Cancer and Molecular Diagnostics (with Advanced Practice) is a comprehensive study program offered by Teesside University that explores the scientific basis of cancer and its management and provides in-depth understanding about molecular diagnostic techniques. It spans over a period of either 18 or 24 months and is aimed to equip students with an advanced skill-set in cancer research.Course Content: The course allows students to learn about the molecular basis for cancer, the advancements in cancer treatment after the Human Genome Project, the techniques for molecular diagnostics including bioinformatics and genomic techniques, and the ethical, legal and social issues related to cancer genetics. The Advanced Practice option provides an opportunity to either take a work placement or do an internship or work on a project with an external organisation.
