Beng Chemical Engineering

The BEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering undergraduate course at Teesside University is a three-year, full-time degree program that covers a broad range of topics surrounding chemical engineering. This course prepares students for a career in a number of industries such as chemical, petrochemical, medical, and pharmaceutical by giving them a balance of theory and practice. The course is accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) for fulfilling academic requirements to become a Chartered Engineer.Course Content: The course covers a mix of theory and practical work which includes laboratory activities. This course also includes optional placement years that you can take between the second and final year. Students will learn to solve practical problems in the fields of chemical and biochemical engineering.Key Modules: Key modules in this program include Engineering Mathematics, Fluid Flow & Thermodynamics, Chemical Process Principles, Process Operation and Control, Industrial Power Generation and Process Control Engineering. They also offer an independent project module in the final year.Accreditations: The BEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering course is accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Graduates from this course are equipped to find employment within chemical and pharmaceutical companies, research institutes, consulting firms, or public sector roles.
