BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering

The BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering course offered by the University of East London is designed to provide students with the fundamental knowledge, skills and understanding required by a professional mechanical engineer. The course combines theory and practical experience to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering.Course Content: The course content is structured in a way that it provides students with a range of essential engineering skills such as design, analysis, testing and system measurement. This includes key topics like engineering design, engineering mathematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials and manufacturing technology.Key Modules: The course comprises several key modules at different levels. Level 4 modules include Mathematics and Electrical Fundamentals, Engineering Design and Materials and Manufacture, as well as an Engineering Project. At level 5, modules include Thermodynamics and Fluids, Structural Analysis and Design and an integrated Design and Experimental project. Level 6 modules include Advanced Thermo-Fluid Discussion and a Major Project.Accreditations: The BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Students graduating from this course can pursue a career in diverse industries including automotive, aerospace, consumer goods, oil and gas, and power and utilities.
