BA (Hons) Fine Art

The BA (Hons) Fine Art course at the University of East London (UEL) encourages students to become ambitious visual artists. Students are provided the freedom to experiment with their own ideas and concepts while also being taught new techniques and approaches. The course embodies a dynamic workshop culture and supports the students' understanding of relevant ideas and critical discourses in contemporary art. Course Content: The course is developed around shared enquiries into contemporary life and investigates social, personal, political, and ethical questions. The course includes independent studio practice, group work, theory lectures and seminars, exhibition visits and critiques, workshop inductions, and project spaces.Key Modules: Modules include fine art practice, professional development, interpretative strategies, integrated project, cultural theories, and contemporary art practices. The final year includes a self-directed study and professional practice modules.Future Careers: Graduates of this course can work in various roles related to fine art such as artist, curator, sound designer, teacher, gallery manager, arts administration, illustrator, and art therapist.
