The Postgraduate Diagnostic Radiography (Pre-registration) course at Glasgow Caledonian University is an accelerated medical training programme, focussed on teaching the key skills and knowledge needed to become a diagnostic radiographer in just two years. Aimed at graduates with a relevant degree in biological, biomedical, physical, life, health sciences or health professions, the course provides hands-on clinical placements and thorough teaching of the science behind radiography. Course Content: This course combines several elements to provide a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic radiography. From teaching how to use radiographic equipment safely to developing knowledge on complex radiological examinations, the course covers everything relating to the profession. Also included are clinical placements to allow for real-world learning opportunities. Key Modules: Some of the key modules covered include Radiographic Imaging and Technology, Professional Practice, Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Research Methods in Radiography. These are split over the two intensive years of study, balanced between academic teaching and clinical placements. Accreditations: Glasgow Caledonian University’s Postgraduate Diagnostic Radiography (Pre-registration) course is accredited by the Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR) and approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). On completion of the course, students become well-qualified for registration with the HCPC as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
