BSc(Hons) Nursing (Blended Learning) Learning Disability

The BSc (Hons) in Learning Disability Nursing at the University of Huddersfield is a blended course intended to train students to become competent in the healthcare industry. This course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based lectures, personal tutorials, and practical sessions with patients in the community.Course Content: Throughout the course, students will be introduced to a variety of topics like professional values, leadership, and management, health and wellbeing across the lifespan, and understanding evidence to inform practice. Moreover, students’ practice learning will involve 50% of the time experience in clinical nursing practice placements and simulated practice.Key Modules: The course is divided into several modules including Experiencing Acute Care, Long Term Conditions, and End of Life Care, Public Health in Contemporary Nursing Practice, Building Capacity and Capability for Practice: Leadership and Management, and Negotiated Practice Learning. Each of these modules consists of a number of credit points.Accreditations: The course is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), qualifying you to immediately seek employment as a registered Learning Disabilities Nurse upon successful course completion.Future Careers: Graduates of this course may progress into a career as a Registered Nurse in the Learning Disability sector.
