The Music BMus (Hons) course offered at the University of Huddersfield helps the students to explore their musical creativity and prepare themselves for a future in the music industry. The course encourages the students to discover their unique style by investing time in composition, technology and/or performance. Course Content: The course starts with a foundation in music meant to familiarize students with core concepts. Further, the curriculum evolves to offer broad choices to students in areas such as Music Production Technology, Community Music, Electroacoustic Composition and more. It also includes seminars and workshops with experts for real-world learning. Key Modules: Some of the key modules available in the course are Composition, Musicology, Performance at Carnegie Hall, Orchestration and Arrangement, Popular Music Studies, Music for the Media, Music in Education and the Community, and Recital.Accreditations: The institution is a member of the National Association for Music in higher education (NAMHE) and has links with industry bodies such as the Musicians Union and British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.Future Careers: Graduates of this course can find opportunities in composition, performance, music education, music technology, music therapy, media related jobs, music marketing or music management.
