BEng(Hons) Civil Engineering

The Civil Engineering BEng (Hons) at the University of Huddersfield offers students the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering practices, both in theory and in practical work. The course is designed to prepare graduates to face future engineering challenges and opportunities. Course Content: The course broadly covers areas such as construction management, design of concrete and steel structures, drawing, transportation, environment, geotechnics, hydraulics, law, professional practice, and materials. Laboratory and fieldwork, as well as projects in each year of study, allow students to utilize the knowledge gained in the classroom.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Sustainable Construction and Professional Practice, Major Design Project (Civil Engineering), Transportation and Highway Engineering, Structural Analysis and Design, Geotechnics, and Design and Construction of Concrete and Steel Structures.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) - composed of the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Institute of Highway Engineers, and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation.
