BA(Hons) Acting, Performance and English Language

The Acting, Performance and English Language BA (Hons) course at the University of Huddersfield combines the study of English language and acting performance, offering students an in-depth understanding of linguistic theory and application alongside intensive performance training. With modules covering a variety of domains from language use to speech production, alongside practical workshops and performances, students will emerge with a unique skill-set, prepared for a wide range of future career paths.Course Content: The course includes three years of studies. In the first year, students will be introduced to basic modules in English Language and Acting. The second year offers more advanced studies, challenging students’ understanding and application of linguistic theories and concepts, alongside the continued development of acting skills. In their final year, students will be able to apply their knowledge and skills in a range of settings, through opportunities to work on performances and research projects.Key Modules: Modules cover areas like Introduction to English Language, Introduction to Acting, English Phonetics, English Grammar in Context, Collaborative project, Theatre and Performance Concepts, and many more.
