MSc Social Work

The University of Dundee offers a unique opportunity for aspiring career professionals in the social work field through their intensive and practical-oriented Postgraduate Studies in Social Work. This course is designed to empower students with the necessary tools, skills and theoretical understanding to meet the requirements of the contemporary social work environment.Course Content: The course consists of theoretical aspects of social work, including legislation, policy, and procedures, partnered with practical placements that offer real-world experience. It's developed in collaboration with local service users, practitioners, policy makers, and partner social work agencies to reflect both modern scholarship and practice. Key Modules: The key modules are divided into two: Part One includes Social Work in Context, Social Work Skills, and Social Work Law and Process. Part Two includes two separate practical placements. Accreditations: On successful completion, graduates are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as social workers.Future Careers: This course prepares students for starting a career in social work. Graduates have found employment in a variety of settings such as local authority social work and voluntary sector organisations, utilizing their training to make a significant impact.
